Surface Smoothness Analyzer
The Surface Smoothness Analyzer (SSA) is a precision instrument used for detecting and measuring surface imperfections. It is typically used to control dispersion quality and to monitor the presence of contamination, pips and other imperfections in filled, non translucent extrudable materials. The compound to be tested is presented to the analyzer in the form of an extruded tape. Resolution of the instrument can be adjusted allowing imperfections down to 12µm height to be detected. The surface analyzer is used in the cable and semiconductor industry and for all filled materials requiring the strictest levels of cleanliness and dispersion. The analyzer consists of two separate units, the camera unit and the cutter unit. Electrical equipment and fuses are located in the rear of the camera unit. The units may be placed alongside each other or separated by short distance. The material under test will be presented in the form of an extruded tape. Main benefits:
- Large surface test capacity
- Traceable calibration/verification
- User friendly interface
- Contaminants are cut out and diverted - easy to locate
- Automatic tape thickness control
- Robust and reliable
