Tape Cleanliness Analyzer

The Tape Cleanliness Analyzer (TCA), is a precision instrument used for detecting and measuring contamination and other foreign bodies in polymers and transparent compounds. Its primary function is to monitor and control cleanliness. Material is presented to the analyzer as an extruded tape. A range of foreign particles an be identified and measured including metal, fiber, black specks, light and dark yellow particles, burnt or degraded polymer by the use of an industrial camera. This camera feeds a computerized defect detection system running on an easy to use Windows XP computer. Resolution of the instrument can be adjusted to fit the size of contaminants being monitored. The TCA consists of two separate units, the camera unit and the cutter unit. These units can be placed together or a small distance apart. Electrical equipment and fuses are located in the rear of the camera unit. Motor controllers and power supply are located in the motor unit.

Main benefits:

  • Traceable calibration/verification
  • User friendly interface
  • Contaminants are cut out and diverted - easy to locate
  • Automatic tape thickness control
  • Robust and reliable
